High School Equivalency Program

Our High School Equivalency program is designed for learners who require an alternative pathway to complete their secondary education. This program provides both structure and flexibility, allowing students to achieve a recognized provincial equivalency certificate that opens doors to employment, vocational training, and higher education opportunities.

The TENS Preparation Course is for students over 16 and is a Grade 11 Attestation of Equivalence of Secondary V studies, accepted as a prerequisite for most vocational courses in Quebec. Basic math-for-life is included in the course, but not required for the exam.

The GDT test is for students over 18 and is a Grade 9 Equivalency accepted as a prerequisite for some vocational courses, such as pastry making, baking, general building maintenance, personal care attendants, vehicle maintenance and service, among others. French is not a requirement for the test.

  • English

    Students build strong reading, writing, and speaking skills that they can use in everyday adult life and future vocational settings. They learn to understand information, communicate clearly, and express their ideas with confidence. These skills help them succeed in real-life situations, such as following instructions, completing tasks, and interacting with others at school, at home, and in future workplaces.

  • French as a Second Language

    Students develop practical French reading, writing, and speaking skills that meet provincial requirements and support everyday life in Quebec. They learn to understand and use French in real situations, communicate clearly with others, and build confidence using the language at home, in the community, and in future work settings.

  • Mathematics

    Students build strong math skills with a focus on reasoning, problem-solving, and real-life applications. They learn how to think through everyday situations, use math in practical ways, and develop the skills needed for equivalency testing and daily life tasks.

  • Science

    Students build an understanding of science concepts that connect to everyday life and help prepare them for independent adult life and future vocational studies. They explore topics like how things work, the Earth and space, materials around us, and the natural world, including plants, animals, and the human body.

    The goal is to help students make sense of the world around them and feel confident in understanding the science and technology they will encounter in their daily lives and future work settings.

  • Social Studies

    Students review key topics in geography, Canadian and world history, and citizenship in ways that connect to their lives. They learn about different places, people, and events, and how these shape the world today. Students also build skills to think, ask questions, and understand social and cultural issues, helping them feel more confident and informed in everyday life.

Graduation Options

This program is ideal for students aged 14+  or adult learners who need a flexible, supportive approach to completing their high school education. With personalized tutoring, structured preparation, and access to expert educators, we ensure that each learner is equipped to successfully achieve their equivalency certification and move confidently into the next stage of life.
